HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 99-149 N.C.S. 07/26/1999 T~esohltioll No. 99-149 1~1.C.~. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING AN APPLICATION AND CONTRACT EXECUTION FOR FUNDING FROM THE GENERAL/NATIVE AMERICAN .ALLOCATION OF THE sTATE c®1VIMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ~L®CI~ GRANT (cDDG) PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOIZ THE PURPOSES OF THIS GRANT WI~REAS the City of Petaluma suffered substantial damage from the storms which occurred during the months of January through April of 1998; and WHEREAS the Department of Housing and. Community Development has distributed Notices of Funding Availability of approximately $4.5 million in Disaster Recovery funds to jurisdictions impacted by the 1998 storms; and WHEREAS it is the City's desire to;investigate all possible sources of revenue to reimburse the city for all eligible expenses already incurred or to undertake certain projects which will repair damages from those 1998 storms; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma hereby approves an application for up to $1,000,000 for a project or projects eligible under the guidelines distributed by the California State Department of Housing and Community Development; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the grant application is approved, the City will provide local leverage for the project(s) with Redevelopment Agency funds in the required amount; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to act on the City's behalf in all matters pertaining to this application. If the application is approved, the City Manager is authorized to enter into and sign the grant agreement and any amendments thereto with the State of California for the purpose of this grant.
