1 RESOLUTION AUTRORIZING THE PURCRASE OF SIX FY 99-00
2 POLICE DEPARTMENT PATROL VEHICLES FROM RENI2~' CURTIS FORD IN
3 THE AMOUNT OF $155,341.44
4 WHEREAS, the Police Department identified a need to replace in FY 99-00 six police
5 patrol vehicles in their existing police vehicles due to high mileage and prohibitive repairs, and,
6 WHEREAS, the City Council approved the use of the funds for this purpose in the FY
7 99-00 ,General Fund Budget, and
g ~ WHEREAS, in FY 98-99 six Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor patrol vehicles were.
9 acquired through an open bid process (ITB 99-058) from Henry Curtis Ford awarded on March
l0 1, 1999 by Resolution 99-52 and delivery of the FY 98-99 vehicles was delayed by the
11 manufacturer until October, 1999, and
12 WHEREAS, Purchasing and Police staffs researched sources for a timely and cost
13 effective means to acquire the FY 99-00 six police patrol vehicles due to the excessive repairs to
14 high mileage vehicles and number of disabled vehicles, and
15 WHEREAS, Henry Curtis Ford has agreed to extend the terms and conditions of the
16 March 1, 1999 Bid Award (ITB 99-058) with certain adjustments in pricing and selection of bid
17 options, and
1s WHEREAS, It was recommended by Purchasing and the Police Department that the FY
19 98-99 bid from Henry Curtis Ford, Petaluma, be extended, with exceptions, to order six
20 additional FY 99-00 Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor vehicles, and
21 WHEREAS, the adjusted price is lower then the State of California and Los Angeles
22 County purchasing agreements, and

24 NOW THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby finds. that:
25 1. The Bid Award (ITB 99-058) dated March 1, 1999 for Ford Crown Victoria
26 police interceptor patrol vehicles is hereby extended to include six (6) additional
27 FY 99-00 Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor patrol vehicles with the
28 following exceptions listed below.

1 - 2. Option B pricing of the March 1, 1999 bid is accepted for Black and White
2 configuration at $653.73 per Vehicle for the FY 99-00 Vehicles.
3 3. The Factory and Dealer pricing increase for Year 2000 models of $312.76 or
4 1.2% per Vehicle is accepted as a fair and reasonable increase in cost from Model
5 Year 1999 to Model Year 2000 for the FY 99-00 Vehicles.

7 NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby
s authorizes the purchase of six FY 99-00 Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor patrol vehicles
9 from Henry Curtis Ford, for $155,341.44.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
