Summary Statement:
During the winter storms of December, 2005 and January, 2006, the City of Petaluma incurred flooding
which required the opening of the Emergency Operations Center and provided support to various
departments operating in the field. In order to file for reimbursement, the Administrative Services Director
must be the designated financial contact. The resolution is exactly the same as what Council has approved
in the past except for changing the designee from Finance Director to Administrative Services Director.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA, TO EXECUTE AND FILE AN APPLICATION
WITH THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR THE PURPOSE OF
OBTAINING CERTAIN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER P.L. 93-288
AS AMENDED BY THE ROBERT T. STAFFORD DISASTER RELIEF AND
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1988 AND/OR STATE FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE UNDER THE NATURAL DISASTER ASSISTANCE ACT
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma experienced a flood event on Saturday, December 31, 2005, and
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma adopted Resolution 2002-142 N.C.S. empowering the Finance
Director on behalf of the City of Petaluma, to execute and file an application with the Office of
Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining certain financial assistance, and
WHEREAS, the job classification of Finance Director has been eliminated and replaced with
Administrative Services Director, and
WHEREAS, this resolution will repeal Resolution 2002-142 N.C.S.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that
the City Manager, Administrative Services Director/Treasurer, or the Accounting Manager is
hereby authorized to execute this application for and on behalf of the City of Petaluma,
California, a municipal corporation established under the laws of the State of California, and
to file it in the Office of Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining certain federal
financial assistance ander P.L. 93-288, as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief'
and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the Natural
Disaster Assistance Act.
2. the City of Petaluma, California, a municipal corporation established under the laws of the
State of California, hereby authorizes its agents to provide the assurances and agreements
required for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance to the State Office of
Emergency Services.
