APPR®VING TIIE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
STREETSCAPE MASTER PLAN
WHEREAS, the Petaluma Community Development Commission (PCDC) has
established a priority to improve the infrastructure in the Central Business District in its "Five-
Year Implementation Plan"; and,
WHEREAS, the PCDC. has appropriated funds for the engineering and design of capital
improvements in the downtown Central Business District; and,
WHEREAS, the PCDC has contracted with the firms of CSW/Stuber-Stroeh
Engineering Group, Inc. and ZAC Landscape Architects, Inc. to develop a Streetscape Master
Plan and engineering specifications for the downtown Central Business District; and,
WHEREAS, CSW and ZAC have collaborated to generate a downtown CBD Streetscape
Master Plan, presenting it before numerous civic and business associations, and receiving
enthusiastic support; and,
WHEREAS, the Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee (SPARC) considered
and approved the Downtown Streetscape Master Plan on August 22, 2002, asking that certain
design details be submitted for further review when engineering design is near completion; and,
WHEREAS, the PCDC has expressed its determination and commitment to make capital
improvements to revitalize the Central Business District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma Community
Development Commission hereby approves the Downtown Central Business District Streetscape
Master Plan.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Sandy Reed of ZAC Landscape Architects, Inc. is
hereby thanked for her vision and work to generate a stronger sense of community and identity in
the downtown area.
