CALL TO ORDER A. Roll Call Present: Chris Albertson; Teresa Barrett; David Glass; Mike Harris; Mike Healy; Gabe Kearney; Tiffany Renee Absent: None GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT Sheri Cardo, Petaluma, spoke regarding the Petaluma Animal Shelter. She understands rising costs but asked Council to keep an open mind about having the shelter run by a non-profit. Wendi Thomas, Petaluma Coalition to Prevent Alcohol and Other Problems, reminded Council that she had spoken at the 2011 City Council Goals Workshop regarding an ARNO or ACE officer. Council told her it was a priority then, but she has not seen much happen. She suggested a fee structure requiring businesses selling alcohol to contribute a nominal fee towards funding for an officer. C.J. Holmes, C.J. Holmes Brokerage, Santa Rosa, spoke in support of a Foreclosure Prevention Zone. Tim Nonn, Occupy Petaluma, presented a draft resolution supporting a Foreclosure Prevention Zone. He spoke of the shame and self -blame that many whose homes are foreclosed upon feel, and said that, "Those on Wall Street are the only ones who should be ashamed." Pam Grainger, Petaluma, speaking for American Lung Association, asked Council to update the City's smoking policies. She said that Sonoma County has passed great policies to reduce exposure to second-hand smoke. She provided Council with a model smoking ordinance. Janice Cader-Thompson, Petaluma, asked Council to look at the financing for goals. I GOAL -SETTING WORKSHOP A. City Council Goal Setting Workshop for 2012.
