RESOLUTION 99-OI
APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH THE COMMITTEE ON THE SHELTERLESS
COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND OUTREACH
WHEREAS the City Council of Petaluma has an adopted Continuum of Care which outlines a level of
service for homeless persons in our community; and
WHEREAS the City, acting as the Petaluma Community Development Commission, has funded
homeless projects and programs for both families with children and single adults for more than a
decade; and
WHEREAS Petaluma has been successful with its existing programs, the Commission wishes to add a
new level of service to the Continuum of Care, which will enhance the capability of homeless persons
to strive toward a higher degree of self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS the Committee On The Shelterless is a community-based nonprofit agency with the
expertise to develop and implement a Master Plan of Homeless Services, including but not limited to a
monitoring program; resource enhancement; facilitation and community-building; and the development
of additional County and regional services into our community;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma Community Development Commission
approves a Professional Services Agreement with the Committee On The Shelterless for an amount
not-to-exceed $106,250 to assist the community in its efforts to resolve issues and problems related to
homelessness; and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the Executive Director or his designee is authorized to sign all
necessary documents.
