I ...... 1. 1178 Days ..................................... 88% Construction Manager's Summary 1. Schedule The project remains on schedule for completion in June 2009. 2. Work Progress Oxidation Ditches Painting of equipment and piping was completed at both oxidation ditches. Operational testing was also completed. Grounding of light poles and electrical boxes began. Secondary Clarifiers The 5 day operational test was completed. Grounding of light poles and electrical boxes began. Main Electrical Building Drain lines were installed for the condensation line on the evaporative cooler. Headworks Facility The operational testing was completed. Discharge chutes were installed on the washer compactors and trash dumpsters were delivered to the site to collect the screenings. Work begam on the grounding of light poles and electrical boxes at the structure. Screw Press Building Work continued on pulling, terminating and testing of the wiring in the building. Work began on the steel framework for the biosolids load out slab. Coating of piping and equipment was completed in the building. Methane Digester Coating of the piping and equipment continued through the month at the methane digester equipment pad. Scaffolding was installed in the methane digester and testing of the T -Loc liner on the interior of the digester began. Work to ground the light poles and electrical boxes also began. Acid Digester Testing and repair of the T -Loc liner was completed on the interior of the structure. Boiler Building Pulling, terminating and testing of wire for the equipment in the building continued. Coating and insulating of the hot water piping was completed. Thickener Building Pulling, terminating and testing of wire continued throughout the month. Biofilter Smoke testing of the biofilter gravel layers was completed. The media was then reinstalled in the bioli ters. Operations and Maintenance Building Completion of punch -list activities continued. Filter Support Start-up of the chemical metering pumps began. Testing was also started on the polymer equipment. Tertiary Filters Little work was done at this facility during the month. The structure was used in the 5 day operational test. LTV Disinfection Coating of the air lines was completed. Recycled Water Pump Station This facility has been put into operation. Wetlands Planting A seed mix of native and wetland plants was planted in the mitigation wetland area. Site Landscaping Final grading was completed in the area south of the UV structure. Planting of trees was started along the west entry road. Planting continued around the operations and maintenance buildings. Polishing Wetlands The planting of Cell D was completed and with this, all of the cells have now been completed. The wetlands biologist will be brought out to confirm that the plantings in all cells satisfy the Contract requirements. Existing Chlorine Contact Basin Punchlist and other corrective work continued in the area throughout the month. 3. Contract Changes Six change orders were processed in December with a total value of $1.51,871.00. Three hundred sixty one change orders have been executed to date with a combined value of $4,141,218.00. The change orders greater than $10,000 executed this month areas follows: Rerouting of electrical conduits at the headworks deck. $46,510.00 Shoring costs at Junction Box No. 2 $48,500.00 Dewatering costs at Junction Box No. 2 $28,000.00 Analyzer changes and minor changes to the instrument index $23,495.00 The Contractor continues to negotiate change order pricing however, they have asked that all change orders be issued unilaterally. 4. Field Orders Eleven new field orders were prepared in December. Two -hundred forty six field orders have been prepared for the project. Of those, one hundred fourteen remain active with a total estimated value of $899,656.00. Testing Pipe was pressure tested as required throughout the month. Testing of the control systems as noted in items above were completed this month. 6. Anticipated Work for Nest Month The process test of the liquid process is scheduled to begin on January 6. This test will bring sewage into the plant and the headworks, oxidation ditches, secondary clarifiers and other related equipment/facilities into service. Strategy field-testing to confinn the operation of the control programming is scheduled to be completed on the filter support building, tertiary filters, and UV facility. At the screwpress building, the piping for the load out facility will be installed and coating of the pipe will begin. The sand for the tertiary filters is scheduled to be delivered and installed near the end of January. Prior to this, the factory representative will be on site checking the installation and process controls to confirm that the system has been properly constructed. The factory representative for the UV disinfection facility will be on site to begin the start-up process for that equipment. Electrical work will continue at the boiler building, screw press building, ferrous chloride and digested sludge tank. Landscaping work will continue throughout the site.
