27 PUBLIC COMMENT
28
29 Peter Tscherneff, Petaluma, thanked Mayor Torliatt for attending the County Board of Supervisors
30 meeting regarding the Dutra asphalt plant. He doesn't think the public is doing everything it can
31 do to get the project stopped. He stated that people need to join together and talk about
32 public figureheads because the corruption in government is always there.
33
34 Doug Millar, Santa Rosa, spoke about violent crimes against children covered up by law
35 enforcement.
36
37 Richard "Dick" Sharke, Petaluma, said he is concerned about the cuts in public safety. Last year
38 we lost 10 officers, 5 from being injured. He stated that we need to be adding public safety
39 employees. He suggested the Council revisit putting a quarter -cent sale tax on the ballot
40 strictly for public safety.
41
42 Zen Destiny, Petaluma, said that Mr. Brown was a great acquisition for the City of Petaluma. He
43 believes the federal government is going to default on its debt. He continued, "It is inevitable
44 and imminent."

Jason Davies, Petaluma, thanked the Council for their support in opposing the Dutra project. He
said he was upset because the Petaluma Council was snubbed. In addition, he felt that the
County has ignored their concerns and asked the Council if there were any follow-up letters
planned or if they were going to join in the lawsuit.
John Hanania, Petaluma, spoke about issues he had with the Police Department over parking
fines.
