WHEREAS, Hospice of Petaluma and Memorial Hospice have collectively been serving
Sonoma and Northern Marin counties for the past 30 years, serving over 1200 patients a year;
and
"EREAS, in addition to providing patient care, Hospice offers grief support services to
adults, children and teens through one-on-one counseling, groups., volunteers support and grief
education classes; and
WHEREAS, on an annual basis. Hospice utilizes the services of over 450 volunteers
from throughout Sonoma County, who come from all walks of life, and share in a common

desire to give to others and give back to their community-, and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Wray has been chosen as this year's Volunteer of the Year for
Hospice of Petaluma, providing 10 years of volunteer experience and serving primarily as a grief
support group leader; as a mentor/trainer for new group leaders, and provides one-on-one grief
support to individuals; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca will be honored at Hospice's annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner
:F at the Petaluma Community Center on April 14, 2009; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the Petaluma Police Department since March 2005. we are
proud to recognize Rebecca Wray as a valued employee of the City of Petaluma.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEDTHAT I. Pamela Torl] att, Mayor of Petaluma.
along with the members of the Petaluma City Council. do hereby congratulate Rebecca Wray on
