Summary Statement:
The City has identified ten (10) vehicles and equipment that are in excess to the needs of the City. Other
City department cannot use the vehicles and/or equipment. The vehicles may have a value in excess of
$500 and therefore Council is required to declare them surplus.
Recommended Citv Council Action/Sueeested Motion:
Adopt the resolution declaring the vehicles and equipment surplus.

RESOLUTION DECLARING VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE SURPLUS TO THE CITY'S NEEDS
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF THE SURPLUS VEHICLES AND
EQUIPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PETALUMA MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the City has identified vehicles and equipment to no longer be of use to the
City; and
WHEREAS, the identified vehicles and equipment (Exhibit A) are declared surplus to the
City's needs and no longer required by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager is hereby directed to
dispose of the vehicles and equipment as he deems appropriate in the manner and in accordance
with provisions of Chapter 3.12 of the Petaluma Municipal Code.

There is an agenda item scheduled for Monday, November 7, 2005 meeting suiplusing
vehicles and equipment. One of the patrol cars (73) has been pulled back at the request
of the Police Department from being surplused.
