EFFECTIVE DATE ORDINANCE NO. 2231 N.C.S.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
CITY OWNED PARCEL AT 418 5TH STREET (APN 008-182-026)
WHEREAS the property owner at 418 5th Street has requested to purchase the City parcel (APN
008-182-026) that lies within his fenced yard; and
WHEREAS the property owner has had the City parcel appraised and is offering to purchase the
City parcel for the appraised amount ($8,750.00) and compensate the City for staff time
($1,350.00); and
WHEREAS the City Council has heard this matter and agrees to the purchase price and staff
compensation.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the sale of the City owned property
know as APN 008-182-026 accepting the appraised amount of $8,750.00 as compensation and
accepting $1,350.00 as compensation for staff time. In addition as a condition of sale, the City
requires an easement to be reserved over the entire City parcel for access, maintenance and
repair of the existing storm drain. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
purchase agreement and grant deed.
