Vol. XX, Page 9
Dave Alden, Petaluma, supports the City's swift action to comply with the State's
new standards regarding ADUs. He encouraged Council to redefine the
proximity of public transit to the ADU by expanding the distance.
Sharon Kirk, Petaluma, also encouraged Council to redefine the proximity of
public transit to the ADU by expanding the distance and believes the changes
are inconsistent with State law. She would like the City to reconsider the
definitions of public transit and parking.
Christine Campbell, Petaluma, supports the updated ordinance which lowers the
permit fees, helping to encourage people to live and work in Petaluma.
Rachel Ginnis, Petaluma, founder and Executive Director of the non-profit Lilypad
Homes, helped sponsor the ADU bill and encouraged Council to lower the permit
fees for junior ADUs as to not double tax home owners. She also asked Council to
consider allowing junior ADUs and ADUs to exist on the same property.
