of the City of Petaluma, California
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
ONE NEW PORTABLE EMERGENCY GENERATOR
WHEREAS, the purchase of a 300 kw Portable Generator is included in the Department
of Water Resources and Conservation Fiscal Year 2007-2008 Operations and Maintenance
Budget to support State Water Board redundancy requirements; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City of Petaluma Charter and Municipal Code,
California Public Contract Code Section 20162 and other applicable law, the City of Petaluma
solicited bids for the Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council on September 10, 2007 adopted Resolution no. 2007-159
N.C.S authorizing City staff to purchase a portable generator from California Diesel and Power;
and,
WHEREAS, the City staff has verified that California Diesel and Power is qualified to
furnish a second generator under its current contract with the City and is willing to extend the
pricing received until December 31, 2007 and this generator has been verified to meet the
requirements for the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility; and,
. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEID BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Approves a project budget of $95,000 for a generator purchase for the Ellis Creek
Water Recycling Facility, related electrical design work, and project administration.
2. Approves the purchase of a 300 kW portable generator from California Diesel &
Power.
3. Directs staff to proceed with the project as described
4. The above recitals are true and correct and hereby declared to be findings of the City
Council of the City of Petaluma.

5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately.
6. All portions of this Resolution are severable. Should any individual component of
this Resolution be adjudged to be invalid and unenforceable by a body of competent
jurisdiction, then the remaining Resolution portions shall be and continue in full force
and effect, except as to those Resolution portions that have been adjudged invalid.
The City Council of the City of Petaluma hereby declares that it would have adopted
this Resolution and each section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase and other
portion hereof, irrespective of the fact that one or more section subsection, clause
sentence, phrase or other portion may be held invalid or unconstitutional.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
