DES 8391 NCS December 18, 1978 EDP AND GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENTS CORONA ROAD / NORTH MCDOWELL RES #8392 NCS PRESENTATIONS Resolution No. 8392 N.C.S. setting hearing date January 15, 1979, to consider General Plan and Envi- ronmental Design Plan amendments - Corona Road /North McDowell Blvd. COMARC EIR Marvin .Catchpol of Tektronix and representatives of COMARC, an environemntal planning firm who is develop- ing a computer program to do,a master Environmental Impact Report on the Petaluma General Plan, discussed methods of retrieving information on parcels within the system. The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District presentation of their 5 -year Transportation Development Plan was presented by Jerome Kirkendahl, Bud Castner, Sonoma's representative on the Bridge District, and Alan Stansbury. The Mayor was presented with a slice of the original cable suspension system from the Golden Gate Bridge and each Councilman was presented a gilt rivet from the bridge. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Putnam. Resolution accepting completion of all services required to complete the Petaluma Historical Survey. Introduced by Councilman Perry, seconded by Councilman Harberson. JoAnn Pozzi from the Chamber of Commerce and Larry Jonas suggested that the formula for conversions be simplified. MCDOWELL No. 1072 N.C.S. by reclassifying and rezoning A.P. #7- AND U.S. 101 350 -03 (approximately 11 acres) from Residential (R -1- ORD 41336 NCS 6,500) to Central Commercial (C -C) property located between North McDowell and U.S. 101, north of Petaluma Plaza (Garrison). The hearing was opened. There were no persons from the audience wishing to speak. The hearing was closed. Previous testimony was considered in the Council's discussion. CONTINUED DISCUSSION Phil Trowbridge of Debra Homes, Jon Joslyn of Qantas PARKLAND Development Company, staff and Council continued the discussion. Staff agreed to meet once again with representatives of the construction industry on this subject. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Putnam presented a plaque to Director of Community Development Frank Gray, whose last day of service with the City of Petaluma is December 20th; he will be . leaving to assume similar responsibilities in Boulder, Colorado. MAYOR RESIGNATION Mayor Putnam read a letter of resignation. Resolution RES 48399 NCS No. 8399 N.C.S. accepting the resignation of Helen Putnam as Mayor and declaring a vacancy in the office of Mayor in the City of Petaluma. Council agreed to meet on January 9, at 7:00 p.m. LANDSCAPING AND Council expressed its desire that Planning Commission MAJOR COMMERCIAL require more extensive landscaping of commercial DEVELOPMENTS developments. Landscaping is to be done in an imagi- native way. OCCUPANCY PORTION Resolution No. 8398 N.C.S. approving occupancy for a OF CASA DE ARROYO portion of Casa de Arroyo, Unit #2 and extending UNIT #2 agreement for public construction.
