PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA..- OCTOBER 11„ 1,977 ADJOURNED MEETING An Adjourned Meeting and Study Session of the Petaluma AND STUDY SESSION City Council was called to order by Mayor Helen Putnam at the hour of 3:38 p.m. ROLL CALL Present' Councilmen Balshaw, Bond, Cavanagh, Hilligoss, Perry, and Mayor Putnam. Absent: Councilman Harberson. CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS PROPOSED AGENDA ITEMS FOR OCTOBER 24, 1977 Consent Calendar for pared two ordinances Consent Calendar for tions to please cone, City Manager Robert Meyer called to the Council's attention the copy of the proposed Bingo Ordinance which had been sent to them for their review. If the Council has no objections., this matter will be placed on the October• 24, 1977. In addition, the .City Attorney had pre - which corrected previous ordinances to be placed on the October 24. Mr. Meyer asked if the Council had any ques- ict his `office. LUCCHESI PARK Mr. Meyer stated he was informed the new tennis courts TENNIS COURTS are ready for use at Lucchesi Park. Yet to be installed are the lighting facilities-and some painting needs to be done on the handball courts. His question was whether or not the Council would want to partially accept completion so the tennis courts could be put to use: Councilman Balshaw stated he observed the tennis courts being used over the weekend. In the discussion, it was brought out the chains which had secured the tennis courts had been cut. Mayor Putnam expressed concern that somebody would force their way into the courts when they had not yet been approved by the City. She felt this' was taking advantage of the liability of the City. Councilman Balshaw indicated he was not aware the chains had been cut but thought they had been opened with the City's permission. City Attorney Larry Klose indicated the Council could partially accept the tennis courts, making some reservations in order to protect the City. ' A motion was then made by Councilman Perry and seconded by Balshaw to add the.acceptance of maintenance, Lucchesi Park, to the Agenda. After some further discussion it: was determined to accept the maintenance on the Lucchesi Park Improvements; citing certain exceptions in the resolution. Resolution #7933 N.C.S. accepting maintenance of Lucchesi Park Improvements (Phase I) excepting therefrom tennis court lighting facilities and irrigation system controls and to provide for reentry for contractor for handball courts was introduced by Councilman Balshaw, seconded by Councilman Hilligoss, and adopted by six. affirmative, and one absentee votes. ADJOURNMENT At this time, the meeting was adjourned in order for the Council to take up the matters of the Petaluma Community Development Commission.
