Petaluma City Council was called to order `by Mayor Helen Putnam' at the hour of 3:45 p.m. NOTICE OF CALL N otice Of Call'for Special Meeting dated November 10, in order to take up the business of the Petaluma Com- 1977, Certificate of City Clerk of Delivery of said Notice, and Consent meeting, submitted of City `Council and filed. for holding said ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen Balshaw, Bond., Cavanagh, Hilligoss, Perry, and Mayor Putnam. Absent: Councilman Harberson. REPORT OF BID Finance.D'irector John Scharer reported he has been in F : ) a6 OPENING, ALTERATION contact with the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding ooL� AND RENOVATION the Economic Development Administration Project 407-51 - HISTORICAL 26546 for the renovation of the Carnegie Library. He LIBRARY /MUSEUM referred to a letter written to Mr.. C. Mark Smith, Director, dated. November 9, 1977 asking for a delay until February 1 to award the bid for the renovation and conversion of the Carnegie Library. Mr. Scharer indicated he expected a response to the letter by Friday, November 18, and would keep the Council informed of any developments.. CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS MAYORS' & COUNCILMEN'S City Manager Robert Meyer reminded the Council of the MEETING, NOVEMBER 29, Mayors' and Councilmen's Meeting which would be held at 1977 the Steamer Gold Restaurant Tuesday, November 29, 1977, with the ,Executive Session to start at 6 -:30 p.m. The guest for the evening will be U. S. Senator Alan Cranston. ABAG'S REGIONAL Mr. Meyer reported Planning Director Ronald Hall had HOUSING PLAN attended the meeting on the Association of Bay Area Government's' Regional Housing Plan and would keep cur- rent with all the material on the Plan. Attest: IFIRM { ADJOURNMENT The Council adjourned the Special Meeting at 3:56 p.m. in order to take up the business of the Petaluma Com- munity Development Commission. 'The Community Development Commission adjourned at 4:25 p.m., and the Council took a walking tour of the downtown area and visited the Gulf Oil property which the City had recently purchased, the "A" Street Parking Lot, the McNear Building which faces both on Petaluma Blvd. North and Fourth Street, the Gervasoni property between the Lan Mart Building and the McNear Building, the Plaza Cafe and Theater, the parking area around "B" and,Second Streets Golden Concourse, the Margolis property on Petaluma Blvd. north of Washington Street, Mary Street, and then returned to the City Hall. Accompanying the City Council were City Engineer David Young, City Manager Robert Meyer, Community Development and Services Coordinator, Frank Gray, and Richard Lieb, architect,. When the Council returned to the City Hall, they convened to an- Executive Session at 5:23 p.m. Mayor Attest: IFIRM {
