Council Meeting. Regular meet ng,of the Council of�the City of
Petaluma called to.-order by Mayor Putnam

Easement, Cherry
Valley Subdivision This being�the- time set to hear-protests and

the Mayor-declared the ,hearing open.
Director of Public•Worka David Young,explained
that the easement is longer.needed as the
developer. has `comp e-ted relocation, of the line
as part of the public improvements, in'the sub-
division.

tests were received. 'As no -other comments
or protests were heard, the Mayor.declared the

Public Address System -- Comments were , -from the,audi,ence regarding

The City Attorney suggested that speaking
from the floor be.directed to use the podium
micraphone,-for better:hea.ring of speaker.
In, .or.,der to provide '_thee best system for the
benefit of the public, a motion was, made by
Councilman Daly,.,seconded by•Councilman'Clecak,
to bring. the pubLic"address.system up to proper
specifications and to, replace the defective
microphones with the desk mounted type. .Motion
carried unanimously'.
Shollenberger Councilman Cl,ecak.reported that City•Manager
River Park Meyer, Recreat on%Direcitor - Jim Raymond, and
he met with Sonoma County Park and Recreation
- Director Jo.e .Rodota an'd Supervisor.Joerg,er to
discuss the River Park-.area, which has now
been named '.Shollenberger River Park. The
County recommended ' that '• the area (18' to-18.5
acres) be developed in two-stages-- Phase,.l
.(,approximately .4 acres adj acen`t..to the City's
boat: launching ramp facility) to be developed
by the..Countyfor cost of
$59,000 ($25,000 from the County,, $25,000
matching funds, and $9,000 from the
County reserved.for fencing the area); Phase II
to be deve,l-oped .when• y funds are available•
a,nd =the area to -be left -in its natural state at
the present time: He the various
athletic groups are unable financially to•., -con-.
struct playing- fields in the ,Phase II area at
the. present time, but .have: been given 2

Following a brief discussion,-a motion was
made by Councilman ,Clecak and. seconded. by
Councilman Perry.,-. Jr. , . approving the plan in
principle. Motion car.re`d unanimously.
Environmental Mayor.Putnam reported that when the E.D.P.
Design Plan was. presented _to, the .Sonoma County Board, ofd.
Superyisors ,'.,Supery so;r,Joerger indicated that
he had some reservations regarding the Plan.

Data Processing Councilman Mattei reported that the
System Committee will 'meet this week to further
study. the computerized system. He urged.

Services Agency problems that the Agency - Selection Committee.

visors for their consideration as an appointee
to the B-ay Area-Sewer.Eervices Agency to repre-

Since the matter, of votes tallied was: in quest-
tion after the August 2, 197'2 meeting and
since an incorrect could possibly change

letter'to County Clerk asking that..

other vote taken. She has not as yet received
an off dial answer_ and will. keep the Council
informed.
