This being time set to. hear protests and
comments-.on• the subject General Plan amendment,
the Mayor opened the public hearing.
The City Clerk reported that no written protests
or- comments- -wer(a received.
Planning Director William McGivern referred to
the Planning minutes August 22,
1972, - and read portions relative to the consider -
ation and action of the.'Planning Commission.
Copy of said minutes submitted and filed.
Mr. .McGivern_ pointed out. that the interim Op.en-
Space Element a required mandatory amendment.
to the - General Plan and'is to-be,filed.with the
State by August 31,, 1'972. The goals and .,poli
cies set.forth.are'not permanent and are subject
to change- in the. final 'Open. - Space Element. to..
filed .with - the . _State. 'by June 3q,-1973. Mr. Mc-
Givern further stated that-the Interim Ope_n-
Space..Element was:,prepared in conjunction with
the County's.goals andipolicies and that the
Planning.Department worked together. with the
County., State, and ABAG on the matter.

in. Santa.;Rosa this afternoon of the. Sonoma.
County, Board,of - Supervisors and the Golden
-Gate `.Bridge D str ct�regarding•the use of

co unty- transit:, and. highway .purposes . During
the discu!ssion,, ,it 'was'ragreed to combine, the
8 cities, -of the County. into one group and
al'ong-with the County and the Bridge District,

of the funds. - The Sonoma County Public Works
Director, and ,Adm- inistrat6r were, authorized to

In preparation for the extensive program -of the
Planning Department for 1972 =73, Zlanning Di-
rector. William Md.Givern submitted a Project
Schedule outlining the various assignments
to be concluded...Copy : of'Schedule submitted
and filed.
Mr.,_McGivern requested the Council to review
the. pr.iorit;ies suggested ..for the projects.

Letter, dated August 4, 1972, from Quantas
Development, Corp. requesting an opportunity, to
disco s'the,ir 1973 =74- project schedule for pro-
perty south of the new Washington Square Shop -.
ping Center, which area was placed in an interim
study zone, read and filed. Mr. McGivern stated
that the Planning bepartment.has discussed this
request with .,Qantas . He noted that this area is
included,in Item 1,*Pag.e 1 of the Planning De-
partment Project Schedule, Priority "A ".
