Rezoning -- Ordinance # '68 N.C.S. introduced at the October Washington Creek 24, 1972, Council meeting proposed by Qantas Area ( Develo p ment,Cor. oration to rezone 37.41 acres Ord #1068 NCS in the Washington Creek area from R -1.- 60.00 to Planned Community District was considered next. Planning Director McGivern presented a map illustrating the 3 zoning components proposed for the area -- single- family, multiple family, and professional offices. He pointed out that the general.layout and boundaries of the 3 land uses are established shown on the map, but pr.ecIi,se details of the development are flexible pending submittal'of subdivision maps and.xe- quired development standards for the project. General Services with variations in specifications -and no trade -ins for a total bid of $20,818.16. _Police Chief Larry Higgins reported that the bid was reviewed and found to be acceptable. It exceeds the budgeted amount due to price increase -.in the new models. He informed the Council that lack of interest in trade -ins was the main reason.for not receiving more local bids. He recommended accepting the bid submit- ted by Jim Rose; whereupon; Resolution #6190 N.C.S. awarding contract for purchase of 6 vehicles for the.Police Department was intro- duced' by. The City Manager asked the Council to consider the possibility in.the future of offering vehicle bids to firms outside the City. In.reviewing maintenance. costs of- Police vehicles, Mr. Meyer reported that the total cost, including insurance, averages 11 -1/2 cents per mile. Ambulance Service Report, dated December 11, 1972, from Fire Chief Res #6192 NCSz Joe I Ellwood reviewing the Petaluma Ambulance' 71F Service and recommending an increase in 2 of the 8 categories of charges -- increase in the base rate of $:3:5. to $_4;5 and increase in miles one - way from $1 to $2, s ubm -fitted and filed. Fire Chief. Jo,e'Ellwood added that the area of the ambulance "service - remains the same as here- tofore, but the operation has been updated in the proposed resolution.
