Petaluma was called to order by Mayor Putnam at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. Attendance Present.: Counc.ilmen`Brunner, Cavanagh, Jr., Daly, Mattei, *Perry, Jr., and Mayor Putnam. Absent: Councilman C-lecak. *Councilman Perry, Jr., arrived at 9:0,5 o'clock P•m• Invocation Due to the absence of the Reverend Ray Reed, First Southern Baptist Church, no invocation was given. Mr. Confer appeared before the Council to further expand on -their proposals and indicated withdrawal of:the.suggested moratorium in of Mr. McGivern's recommendation on the matter. Following some discus °lion, the Council agreed to hold a joint meeting with Williams and- Mocine, the .staff, the .Planning Commission, the members of the,P..etaluma..His-torical Preservation, and other interested•per;sons or groups to consider- input and information on the matter and to decide on the proper- action'to follow. The City Manager was directed.to arrange and schedule the meeting as soon as,pos,sible. -In the meantime, Mr. Confer was.ask.ed to develop an inventory of the strut- tures.with historical.or,architectural value for I review %.at_ the meeting. Committee attendance at -an' electronic z data-processing seminar in San.Jose did not - prove helpful. Councilman Mattei added that• a trip is planned to the City of..Redding in the near future to investigate.ts system. Councilman Mattei further stated that.the informa- tion- compiled 'by the Committee was analyzed - in an effort to make.a decision and a number of questions developed:. (1) Should the.City`p.urchas a computer? (;2 } SYiould the City share with : the County of Sonoma`? (3) Should the City share with a local ,private firm? Supervisors as voting o:f the As.soeia:tion; however,,after . checking the matter it- was - discovered that such a privilege requires a'•change in the Association .by= laws..: The proposed change will "be discussed at a later date- by.the Association, but.will also require consideration at Council level.
