City Attorney Robert stated that the agreement
.
relating to`the maintenance of the private street
has been reviewed and determined to be adequate.
Planning Director McGivern presented a location
-
map of the three -acre subdivision located be-
tween Schuman Lane and West Street for a proposed
single- family residential development. -He re-
viewed certain particulars regarding the condi-
tions of approval and stated that Mr. Nunn,
developer of the subject subdivision, has pro -
posed a lesser width for the private street.
Mr. Ron Nunn then appeared before the Council
with an exhibit to illustrate the requested
twenty -eight foot wide street proposal instead
of the required thirty -two foot street width.
An exhibit showing the car count on the property
when developed* and photo of the existing roadway
leading into the property were also presented
"
by Mr. Nunn for Council consideration. He added
that the original application to the Development
Allotment'.Board last spring for the subdivision
proposed street as narrow as possible. Council-
man -elect James Harberson, member of the Allotment
Board, stated that the proposed subdivision rated
high and he supported Mr. Nunn's request.
Director of Public Works David Young recommended
the thirty -two foot requirement as stipulated
-"
in his letter of May,25, 1973, and he particularly
pointed out the necessity of the required width
to accommodate emergency vehicles.
Considerable discussion followed and upon con -
clusion, it was decided by the Council to modify
Condition #11 to provide that the street width
be changed to twenty-eight feet and that the
parking be banned on one side of the street and
k,w
selection of which side to be determined by the
*Homeowners' group and included in their convenants.
