Mayor Putnam at the hour 7 :3'0 o'clock p.m.. ` Attendance Present: Councilmen - Brunner, Cavanagh, Jr., Clecak, Daly -, Perry, Jr., and Mayor Putnam.. Absent: Councilman- Mattei. Flood Plain Zoning Letter. dated June 12,- 1973, from Supervisor Philip L. Joerger, Chairman, Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, that the Board, initiated procedures to'establ-ish Flood Plain Zoning on the-lower reach of-the-Petaluma River Flood Plain as described in the attached preliminary report, and requesting that the City ,Council also initiate Flood Plain Zoning on its portion of,the Petaluma River Flood Plain in a coordi- nated - effort, read and. filed. Supervisor Joerg.er stated that the 'Board is seeking cooperation of Marin•County since much of the flood plain is in- its'jurisdiction. Associate Planner Frank Gray- presented a.map- of•the four reaches the Petaluma River Flood Plain. He reported that a.. joint meeting was' held by- the.Coun.ty.of•,.Sonoma, County of Marin and City of Petaluma on the.matter. He pointed out to the Council that the City of. adopted Flood - Plain Zoning regulations in its Zoning Ordinance #10 -7.2 N . C . S .. It was recommended by Mr. Gray that two letters be directed by the Council-in response to Supervisor Joerger's re- quest:, .(l); To the Sonoma County Board. of Super- visors that the Council agrees in general with the Flood - Plain Zoning concept and that flood_ plain regulations are provided within the City's Zoning Ordinance and will be implemented on these .-reac!hes. of -the River. ( 2 ) To the County of• Marvin - urging ". the - Board .of Supervisors to pro - ceed with.appropriateo- zoning studies on.its portion of Reach 1 -which lies within.Marin County. Discuss�ion:was held possible effect of. the Flood Plain Zoning on,the 212 acres of land purchase'di,by the .City. of-Petaluma. for •a dredging sp.oAl_s! site.
