OF CITY COUNCIL PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA August 17, 1970 Council Meeting Regular meeting of the Council of the City of-Petaluma was called to order by Mayor Putnam at the hour.of 7:30- o'clock p.m. Attendance Present: Councilmen Battaglia *,.Brainerd, Brunner, Cavanagh, Jr., Joerger, Mattei, and Mayor Putnam. Absent: None. *Arrived at 7:35 o'clock p.m. Invocation The invocation was given by the Reverend T. Hall Bisset, Penngrove Community Church. Approval of Minutes The minutes of'.August 3, 1970 and August 6, 1970 were approved as recorded.. The minutes of August•10, 1970 were amended as follows:. Page.2, Item - Budget 1970 -71, "Mr. Meyer noted that the budget provides $1,533;865 for. personal services and totals $3,330,,151 -- the highes,t'budget_ in the history of the City of Petaluma. Planning Director McGivern showed a map of- the 40+ acre area proposed for a future mobilehome park site. As no oral•protests or' further comments were heard, the.public hearing was closed; whereupon, Ordinance-No. 98 N.C.S., approv- ing the - annexation of certain.uninhabited territory_ designated "Petaluma.Annexation 70 -2" to the City 'of' Petaluma, was 'intro- duced by Councilman Cavanagh,,Jr., seconded by.Councilman Joerger, "and ordered published by 7-,affirmative votes.. Sonoma County Mr. Don Head,_accompanied by Supervisor. 333#C Central Service George. DeLong; appeared before the .Coun- A-rea.Refuse cil• at the: of the Sonoma County Disposal Site Board of Supervisors to discuss the County's Alternatives Master Plan of,Refuse Disposal Areas of the.County' and the report on the Central Service Disposal Site Alter - natives -. Latter report submitted and. .filed. Mr.. Head explained that.the Cen- tral Service Area now.includes of Windsor and Roblar, and it is recommend - ed these.two sites be replaced by a single site to.-accommodate the refuse generated by the Central Service Area to the year 2,0 He detailed the cri- teria in selecting two possible sites for consideration•of the single site to 8 6 August 17, 1970 1 1 1 Sonoma.County serve a 10 -mile radius which will include Central Service:: the northern and western Petaluma areas.
