MINUTES OF MEETING
OF -CITY COUNCIL,
PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA

Council Meeting Adjourned meeting of , the Council of the
City of Petaluma was called.to order by
Mayor Putnam at - "the hour 7:30 o'clock
p.m.
Attendance Present Councilmen Battaglia Brainerd,
Brunner, Cavanagh, Jr., Joerger,
Matteis and Mayor Putnam.
Absent:, None.-
Executive Session The Council retired to an executive'session.
The meeting was called back to order at
8:30 o'clock p.m.
Water Commission Resolution No. 5609 N.C.S., appointing.
Appointment Donald Petro to the Water Commission, was,
Res. - 4560'9 N.C.S.. introduced Councilman Joerger,.seconded
by Councilman Brainerd, and adopted by 7
affirmative votes.
Sonoma County
Resolution No. 5610 N.C.S., to Sonoma
Grand Jury
County Grand Jury, was introduced.by
Res.. #5610 N.C.S.
Councilman..Mattei, seconded by Councilman
Battaglia, and adopted by 7 affirmative
votes..-The City Attorney was directed
to forward the subject resolution to the
Grand. Jury immediately-

In answer.to Councilman Brainerd, Chief,
Higgins - estimated .$500 to change the lot
to . two -hodr parking and-provide the .ne.c-
essary meters - (a,s •proposed.' in part of
Plan 3)., The 51 meters needed,for
the lot would -be `furnished. ,as. follows:.
Purchase 10, move 11 -from Washington
Street " L_ be -rty iStre'ets , move l7
from Petaluma Boulevard North between _
Prospect and Oak Streets, and use 13

"A" Street feeling, of 'the Council that two -hour
Parking ' Lot parking would provide more spaces

day parking. A motion was then.made by
Councilman.Mattdi - and seconded -by Coun -.
cilman- Brainerd approving two -hour park-
ing_on. "A Street parking lot. Motion
carried unanimously.
Consideration replac=ing 'the . meters
to be removed on Washington Street and
Pe.taluma'Bo.ulevard North.was deferred.
Mayor.Putnam directed that a letter be
; forwa - rded'to the Chamber of Commerce of.
the. - Council's action indicating.that.
such action was taken from the,viewpo.i t
of the shoppers and the public,
and that the matter of parking for em-
ployee - and employers will be considered -
at a later date together with the Cham-
ber's ass istance on the,problem.
Adjournment There being,.no further,busi -to come
before the the meeting was ad-
journed at 9:30 o'clock p.m. to a study
session for: Review of schools,.parks,
and.other recreational.areas, and con
sideration -of health insurance for re-
tired employees.
