Council- man Cavanagh, Jr ,•*read a prepared statement of his- opinion. regarding. the installation of, a computer 'f.or the .City of Petaluma. In suit- - mary, he asked.for justification of the use of such equipment. He felt that from- in,for -' mation' received, on computers, such an item would .be u,seles's spending .o.f'. taxpayers' dol— lars. A poll of the Council resulted: in majority, consensus for the .installation of the equipment. The vote was as follows: Battag:lia,.yes; Brainerd, yes; Brunner, ".guarded "' yes; Cavanagh., Jr-., requested j Usti fication,:o.f -Us:e; , Daly ; . "guarded" yes.; Matte requested more information on the financial part -such - as feasi- bility , of, sharing,with other,commuriities etc.; Mayor, yes. The staff was directed to prepare the.ne_c es ; sary- legislation covering capital outlay. items -for the March 15th Council meeting. Support-- Federal Resolution No. 5694 N.C.S., supporting' Revenue Sharing.
