OF CITY COUNCIL'
PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA
September 20, 1971
Council Meeting Regular meeting of the Council of the
City of Petaluma was called to order by
Mayor Putnam at the hour of 7:30 o'clock
p.m.
Attendance Present: Councilmen Brunner,,Cavanagh,
Jr., Clecak, Daly, Mattei,
Perry, and Mayor Putnam.
Absent: None.
Invocation
The invocation was given by,the Reverend
Thorval Evenson,.Elim Lutheran Church.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes September 1, 1971, and
September 7, 1971, were approved as re-
corded.

District, appeared before the Council
to discuss-:the! operations and
the impact.of.the "no burning" regula-
tions which.become effective October 1,
197.1.: Mr. Paul..Brand, Inspector with the
BAAP CD, was-also present to give supple -
mental.information on the matter. He also
reviewed.the.:proposed ordinance.,(Agenda
Item No. 17 ) .prohibiting ,burning in the
City of ,.Petaluma •and suggested-various
changes.and,additions for Council
sideration. During the.discussion,.the
Council expr,eased'concern on a question
raised at..:a.recent Chamber of Commerce
meeting.with.regard to the possibility
o,f District's regulations forcing
the local.petro.leum plants to shutdown.
Mr. Brand stated that the.matter would
be investigated and a full report given
to'the-City Manager thereon.

to Charles Phill for reconstruction
of the. dikes be in-abeyance' until
definite..information is received from
the. Corps . Mr . ' Young was asked to
keep - the Council up to date, on the
matter.

Supervisor_Joerger and apprise him of
