HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 09/20/19710 X93 P P� MINUTES OF MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL' PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA September 20, 1971 Council Meeting Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma was called to order by Mayor Putnam at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. Attendance Present: Councilmen Brunner,,Cavanagh, Jr., Clecak, Daly, Mattei, Perry, and Mayor Putnam. Absent: None. Invocation The invocation was given by,the Reverend Thorval Evenson,.Elim Lutheran Church. Approval of Minutes The minutes September 1, 1971, and September 7, 1971, were approved as re- corded. Bay Area Air Mr. Gerald_M. Poznanovich,,Santa Rosa Pollution City Councilman and.County'Representative Control District of the Bay.Area Air Pollution Control District, appeared before the Council to discuss-:the! operations and the impact.of.the "no burning" regula- tions which.become effective October 1, 197.1.: Mr. Paul..Brand, Inspector with the BAAP CD, was-also present to give supple - mental.information on the matter. He also reviewed.the.:proposed ordinance.,(Agenda Item No. 17 ) .prohibiting ,burning in the City of ,.Petaluma •and suggested-various changes.and,additions for Council sideration. During the.discussion,.the Council expr,eased'concern on a question raised at..:a.recent Chamber of Commerce meeting.with.regard to the possibility o,f District's regulations forcing the local.petro.leum plants to shutdown.
