Council-Meeting Adjourned meeting-of the Council - of.the City
of Petaluma was called to order by Mayor
Putnam at 7:30 o'clock p.m.
Attendance Present: Councilmen Brunner, Cavanagh, Jr.,
Clecak, Daly, Mattei, 'Perry, Jr.,
and Mayor Putnam.
Absent: None.
Approval of Minutes The minutes of January 31, 1972, were ap-
proved.as recorded.
Agenda
By consensus of the Council, Agenda Items 2

31, 1972, the following four letters were
read:.
Letter, dated February 1, 1972, from Mr.
Charles M. Porro, owner of Homeowners'
Lumber Company, expre.s.sing. thanks for the
, Council's consideration of the Environmental
Design Plan and stating that when he is cer-
tain that his property will not be changed ,.
he will be happy to work with'the.Planning
Commission to make any,,, changes in the
appearance of his property to help beautify
the City of Petaluma, :read.and filed.
Letter, dated Febr "nary 3, 1972,,from Wilma
Bingham, Correspondinq Secretary, Young
Voters' for Conservation, asking for reasons
for having so .many citizens' committees
working.on an Environmental Design for
Petaluma and questioning the.recent vote by
the Councilmen for more mobile homes in
Petaluma as bieng_in complete opposition to
the recommendations_ of .these committees,
read and filed.
Letter, 10, 1972, from Leslie
H. Meyer, Superintendent of the Petaluma
Schools, that the Board of Education reen-
dorses its stand on mobile homes as stated
in its resolution passed on September-22,
1970,..and reaffirmed,its stand to cooperate
and work with other agencies in the growth

discuss - the various issues and points ,under
considera.t-ion. Throughout the.Co.uncil re-
view of the.test,.Planning Director McGivern
and - Councilman Daly, Council representative
on the Planning Commission, explained the,
Planning Commission's reasoning for- the -
recommended changes.

standpoint. Councilman- Mattei

out the imbalance of parks area -
wise-- approximately 14.82-acres
on the west side versus 35 acres

15,000 people in,each-area. Mr.
Mocine'noted that the text does
not specifically so state, but
the map does recommend an addi-
tional park site in the Sunny-
slope area for the west side
and marked for future study by
the Planning Commission* and -
Co.uncil. in . an effort' to 'bring
the west side up to
standards. Mr. Meyer asked the
record to'indicate that Mr.
Mocine stated that there is a
deficiency on both'sides,of the
City as far as parks are concerned.
