MINUTES OF MEETING
OF CITY COUNCIL
PETALUMA,CALIFORNIA
May 24, 1968
Council Meeting Special meeting of the Council of the City of
Petaluma called to order by Vice Mayor Kenneth Colin
at the hour of 12:00 o'clock noon.
Attendance Present: Councilmen Brainerd, Cavanagh, Jr.,
Joerger, Lipman ind Vice Mayor Colin.
Absent: Councilman Battaglia and Mayor Putnam.
Notice of the Notice of the Special Meeting called for May 24,
Call 1.968, the certificate of the City Clerk of the
delivery of said notice and the consent of the
members of the City Council to the holding of
said meeting, submitted and filed.
Purpose of the The meeting was called to consider and act upon
Meeting the application of James Bros. Circus to conduct
a circus on May 27, 1968, at Stony Point Road
near Petaluma Boulevard North.
Circus Chief of Police Larry Higgins and.Fire Inspector
Res. #4999.NCS Clyde Thomas were present to discuss the necessary
conditions and regulations to be observed by the
circus operator. It was generally agreed by the
Council that the Chief of Police use his discretion
regarding the permission of carnival -type games at the
circus, whereupon Resolution #4999 N.C.S. granting
authority to James Brothers' Circus to conduct a
circus in the City of Petaluma on May 27, 1968, was
introduced by Joerger, seconded by
Councilman Cavanagh, Jr., and adopted by 5 affirma-
tive votes, 2 absentees.
Adjournment -There being no further business to.come before the
Council, the meeting was adjourned at 12:10 o'clock
p.m.
