RECOMMENDATION: The Parks and Recreation Department recommends that the City Council accept the project as completed per plans and specifications. BACKGROUND: The City Council at their meeting of February 18, 1997, awarded the contract to renovate the Petaluma Swim Center to the firm of CG Builders of Santa Rosa. The bid price for the renovation was $236,877. During construction seven change orders totaling $25,583 (11 %) were authorized. The change orders included structural repairs to the roof due to dry rot, replacement of the roof, exhaust fans for restroom areas, trap primers for restrooms, and relocation of electrical panel. Total cost for the bath house renovation was $262,460. ALTERNATIVES: Not accept the project. This alternative is not recommended since the contractor performed their responsibilities as required by the project plans and specification. CONSEQUENCES OF NOT ACTING: The City Clerk cannot file a notice of completion. ACTION FOLLOWING AUTHORIZATION: The City Clerk will file a notice of completion with the County of Sonoma. j c /ss /resbath/ #70
