HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 07/07/1969MINUTES OF MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA July 7,_ 19 6:9 Council Meeting Regular meeting of Council of the City .of Petaluma was called to order by Mayor Putnam at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. Attendance Present: Councilmen Battaglia, Brainerd, Brunner-, C'avanag4, Jr., Joerger, Mattei and Mayor Putnam. Absent None. Invocation The invocation was given by Msgr. Clyde Tillman, St. Vincent's Church. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was re- -cited by everyone present. Remarks.- Mayor Putnam welcomed Councilmen Brunner and Mayor Mattei, elected to the Council on June 10•, 1969. She stated that it is the respon- sibility of the Council to serve the. total- community and that their goals are high but not always realized—She concluded her re- marks by assuring•that the Council will work hard,-,.to solve.'the ;rrrany financial problems and:will also work together for the good of the City,.. Approval of Minutes The minutes of June 16, 1969 were approved as recorded. -. Precise Plan Lines - This the time set for a public hearing ��// Portion of.Magnolia on the establishment of -an lines for a por - -7 Avenue & Extension tion. -of - Magnolia Avenue and the extension of of Liberty Street Liberty Street, the City Clerk announced that Ord. #942 N.C.S.. no written protests had been received, although it was noted that written protests had been filed at the public hearings on October .7, 1968 and February 17, 1969. Affidavit.of Posting public hearing notice along the streets involved and Affidavit of Publication of•.publi hearing notice in the Argus- Courier were duly filed. Assistant City Engineer H. E. Wood presented and.described engineering slides of the pro- posed future-.widening of the streets involved and details of:the right -of -way alignment affecting each property owner.
