Street Lighting
Director of.Public Works David Young reported
Petaluma Gardens Subd.
that the developer of the subject subdivision
has reconsidered the proposal for street light-
ing presented to the Council recently and has
agreed to install the pole type electrolier
with an overhang arm mounted on it which he
recommended. Mr. Young added that a revised
—
set of plans have been submitted to the Engi-
neering Department for review. lS
Mrs. Nina Dunbar -
In answer to Councilman Cavanagh, Jr., Council -
Easement Request
man Lipman stated that the Water Commission at
its last meeting concurred with the Council's
decision to sell a strip of land to Mrs. Dunbar
for a roadway easement. The City Attorney
stated that the next procedure will be a pre-
sentation of an offer by Mrs. Dunbar and then
the staff will negotiated on the basis of a
reasonable market value, after which a staff
recommendation will be made to the Council.
Hotel - Motel
Councilman Lipman brought up the subject of the
Tax Revenue
use of funds derived from the subject tax, re-
ferring to Ordinance #787 NCS which provides
that revenues collected from the hotel -motel
tax can be used for such promotional purposes
as the Council shall find will contribute to
the growth, enlargement, and prosperity of the
City. fie said that some study should be given
soon on the use of these funds and suggested for
the Council's consideration and discussion at
a January meeting that a worthwhile project
would be beautifying the entrances to the City.
The Mayor commented that suggestions offered
would be considered when disbursement of the
money is discussed. It was noted by Council-
man Joerger that $12,000 was granted to the
Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce by the County
Board of Supervisors for convention promotional
purposes and he wondered whether the City of
Petaluma should not receive a fair share of the
County funds. Councilman Lipman was asked to
refer this matter to the Chamber of Commerce
for exploration.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before th
Council, the meeting was adjourned to an execu-
tive = -session.
