Absent.: None. C. Cahill, Purchasing Agent., recommending that the contract for the sprayer be awarded to the only bidder, Westerterp Bros., Petaluma, whereupon Resolution #4407 N.C.S. awarding contr- ... , act for purchase of one (1) hydraulic high - pressure sprayer, was introduced by Councilman Joerger, seconded by Councilman Gans, and adopted by 7 affirmative votes. �54 Purchase of Report on bid opening December 17, 1965, signed Weed Chemicals by J. C. Cahill., Purchasing Agent, recommending Res:. 44408 NCS that contract for weed chemicals be awarded to the low bidder, Purity Chemical Products, Santa Rosa, Californ`ia,-whereupon Resolution #4408 N.C.S. awarding contract for purchase of chemical for weed abatement, was introduced by Councilman Lipman, seconded by Councilman Gans, and adopted by 7 affirmative votes.' 3 ABC.Application Copy of application for liquor license filed with ABC by Himmy T. Silver for Nathan's Deli - catessen at 1,63 Kentucky Street, and approved by Chief of Police Del Maestro, Fire Marshal Ellwood, and the Building and Health Inspectors, submitted and filled.. Regional Water Letter, dated December 9, 1965, from John B. I`f� Quality Control Board Harrison, Executive Officer of the subject Board, regarding control of water pollution and requesting names and addresses of all parties who apply for permission to establish refuse dumps, read and filed. Sonoma County Letter, dated Deceber 10th, 1965, from Mrs. Court House Edward,Dermott, President, Lawyers' W ives of Sonoma County, inviting Council to attend functior on February 5, 1966, to commemorate the County Court House which will be vacated and demolished soon, read and filed. Letter of Appreciation Letter, dated December 14, 1965, from Supervisor Leigh:S. Shoemaker Leigh S. Shoemaker expressing sincere appreciation for the many courtesies during the past year, read and filed. December 20, 1965 North Bay Division Notice of Quarterly Meeting, North Division, League of Calif..Cities League of California Cities, to be held in City Quarterly Meeting of Lakeport on January 29, 1966, read and filed. Claims and Bills The City Manager was requested to check Claim #5067 Res. #4409 'NCS to find out if the repairs to the juke box"at C, the Kenilworth `Recreation Center were necessary 7 / due to vandalism. Summer Water Rates Report prepared-by J. C. Cahill, Assistant Fin- ance Director, of the Summer Water Rate Program, 1965, submitted and filed. Mr. Cahill briefly - 'reviewed the reportcwhich indicated a credit' to consumers of $11,287.55 for the summer of 1965. Redrey Rezoning Councilman Gans reported that the regular Planning Commission meeting December 21st has been'postponed.to Wednesday, December 22nd. �/f -He urged the Council to attend in order to - consider- the matter of the County r.efer,r,al on Redrey rezoning. Garden Estates Subd. # Report, dated December 8, 1965, of Director Completion of Public.Works David Young certifying to the Res. #4410 NCS completion of'public improvements in th:e'sub- ject subdivision, read and filed. Resolution #44.10 N.C.S. accepting completion of work C, required in Garden Estates Subdivision • #2, 7 / was introduced by Councilman Lipman, seconded by Councilman Gans, and adopted by 7 aff-irma- tive votes. East Park Subd. #1 Report, dated December 14,, 1965, of Director Completion of Public Works David Young certifying to the Res. #4411 NCS completion of public improvements in the subject subidivison and recommended acceptance provided.the subdivider continues to clean the (o streets of adobe mud, read and - filed. Letter attached. to Mr. Young's ,report from Mr. Wesley Bailey, subdivider, agreeing to continuation of cleaning streets until construction is c.om- ple.ted, read and filed. I J9 Attest: / , r er December 20, 1965 / /6 Street Lighting Director of.Public Works David Young reported Petaluma Gardens Subd. that the developer of the subject subdivision has reconsidered the proposal for street light- ing presented to the Council recently and has agreed to install the pole type electrolier with an overhang arm mounted on it which he recommended. Mr. Young added that a revised — set of plans have been submitted to the Engi- neering Department for review. l�S� Mrs. Nina Dunbar - In answer to Councilman Cavanagh, Jr., Council - Easement Request man Lipman stated that the Water Commission at its last meeting concurred with the Council's decision to sell a strip of land to Mrs. Dunbar for a roadway easement. The City Attorney stated that the next procedure will be a pre- sentation of an offer by Mrs. Dunbar and then the staff will negotiated on the basis of a reasonable market value, after which a staff recommendation will be made to the Council. Hotel - Motel Councilman Lipman brought up the subject of the Tax Revenue use of funds derived from the subject tax, re- ferring to Ordinance #787 NCS which provides that revenues collected from the hotel -motel tax can be used for such promotional purposes as the Council shall find will contribute to the growth, enlargement, and prosperity of the City. fie said that some study should be given soon on the use of these funds and suggested for the Council's consideration and discussion at a January meeting that a worthwhile project would be beautifying the entrances to the City. The Mayor commented that suggestions offered would be considered when disbursement of the money is discussed. It was noted by Council- man Joerger that $12,000 was granted to the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce by the County Board of Supervisors for convention promotional purposes and he wondered whether the City of Petaluma should not receive a fair share of the County funds. Councilman Lipman was asked to refer this matter to the Chamber of Commerce for exploration.
