In order to be in- cluded the Commission's 1966 -67 budget, he added, the matter must be considered at its next meeting in Fort Bragg _. on Monday, August 22nd; however, Council approvatof the location the site and the City's intention to acquire the property is required for presentation at said meeting. He commented that from the staff level, it was learned and de- termined from state officials and from meetings attended by Mr® Shollenberger in Sacramento, this ramp would be a good prelude to the Small Craft Harbor development and that the - fund's for the ramp would in no way affect funds for the Small Craft Harbor, specifically indicating that these are two sepa- rate projects. Richard: Shollenberger,. Director of Parks & Recreation, and staff member assigned to the boat launching ramp facility pro- gram, presented a cost estimate prepared by a consulting engineer of a tentative plan for the proposed boat launching 7 facility, He pointed out that the only cost to the City would be acquisition of the site as all other costs are included in the grant. He then described the plan in detail from a sketch -of the proposed facility, commenting that the access road in- cluded in this development can also be used for the proposed Marina. He also displayed and referred to a general plan of the Marina prepared by the Planning Department in 1962: The site selected for the boat ramp, Mr., Shollenberger added is approximately 400 feet downstream from the proposed Small Craft Harbor site, which, as required under the grant stipulations, would be apart from the Marina; however, in order to proceed, Council action is necessary as outlined by Mr. Byrd.
