REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION:
Resolution Accepting the
Construction of Six Playgrounds
January 6, 1997
To accept the project to renovate five existing playgrounds and construct one new
playground.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks and Recreation Department recommends that the City Council accept the project
as completed per plans and specifications.
BACKGROUND:
During their meeting of August 5, 1996, the City Council awarded the contract to renovate
playgrounds at Kenilworth, La Tercera, Lucchesi, McDowell Parks and the Westridge Open
Space.
In addition, a new playground was proposed for the neighborhood park located between the
Mountain Valley and Cader Farms Subdivision.
The contract was awarded to Ross Recreation Equipment Co., Inc., of Santa Rosa at a
contracted price of $338,000.
During the project, two change orders were approved for a total of $3,225.50.
The project has been completed and has been well received by the Petaluma community.
CONSEQUENCES OF NOT ACTING:
The City Clerk cannot file a Notice of Completion.
ACTION FOLLOWING AUTHORIZATION:
The City Clerk can file a Notice of Completion.
