Sonoma -area and protest of -the County's consideration of funds for construc- tion _of a municipal golf course at the Sonoma County Airport. ` Also discussed w as, the Petaluma River w=idening - deepening _protect -which was referred to the Chamber's Transportation Committee.. He informed the Council that'another joint city- county.- chamber get together will be held at Ned Davis' home in the Sonoma Mountains on ' June -17th, and that all Council : candidates have been- invited to speak at the Retail Merchants meeting tomorrow morning. June 5,- 1967 Street Maintenance - Director of Public Works David Young informed Council - Railroad Crossing man Lipman that the Street Department repaired the "U" A reas Street 'main railroad yrossing today -; however,. he added that this maintenance' work is actually the responsibility of the railroad company, Mr. Young discussed the lack of cooperation* on the part of the railroad company to nu intain railroad car =ossing areas, and it was suggested that this matter be pursued in order to correct the problem. 1 Trojan'Ba.seball A motion was made by Councilman Lipman, seconded by Team Councilman Cavanagh, Jr., and unanimously agreed- by the Council to send a letter of commendation to the Trojan Baseball Team for winning the championship. The City Clerk w -as directed to prepare ale tter for .presentation by a Council representative at the Spring Sports Banquet on Wednesday night. Petaluma Swim Recreation Commission Chairman Robert Koenitzer invited Club Mayor and Council to attend the Petaluma Swim Club meet at 9 o'clock a. m. on Saturday, June 10th.
