At the request of Councilman King the City. - Engineer went over the varioas changes explaining in detail the costs involved. Councilman King expres`s'ed his objection. to the proposed location of the building which he believed lundesirable from the standpoint of good - planning, and stated that study should be given to the location by the City Planner. Considerable discussion was held as to whether or not the building should be .relocated; the planning and financial aspects involved; etc Councilman King requested a, report from the City Planner relfttive to the originally proposed location and the location being requested by the Fair Board. Mrs. Cleona Ternes, Recreation, Parks and Music Como e expressed the 'opinion that the estimated .$69 000, involved in the relocation. of the building Was too great for the amount of benefit which would be derived from the moves Commissioner .John Cava.ngh, Jr. stated that he could only - say - that he might have felt; differently, - except for the cost involved - in the relocation. He recalled Mr. Ingram having commented 'at that time that he did not feel it would be necessary to re constru ct the chrIbs and gutters on Howard - St. , as the condition of the gutters did not warrant it. Mayor Parent stated hAt he too recalled this meeting, but he could. not remember any mention of .the fact that there yore 'cobblestone curbs on .Howard -St. which would be left in. Councilman Matzen felt that the Council was not on this matter as he could not remember ever having ' pprovcd of the cobblestone curbs being left on�Howard'.St. -He felt that a full r eport on the s ubject should be submitted to the Council, Mr, Mel Hein state& that he had paved Howard. Inasmuch - as no formal request had been made of Council by the hatchery, the City Manager'was directed. to check further on this matter and report. to the Council. :Traffic Problems Councilma:n'Ellis called the Council's attention to the yellow loading zone on Kentucky Ste 'where the Tomasini Hardware Store Was formerly located, He. stated that this loading zone was vacant part: of the time, and asked if some- thing could be done about in order to help take care of the parking problem in town during this season of the year. Councilman. Ellis also noted that some of the red zones around town being used for loading zones. -especially on East. " ;and Wilson Streets.
