OF ORDINANCE June 16, 2008 1 Introduced by Seconded by 2 3 4 Teresa Barrett Mike Harris 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 AMENDING ORDINANCES NO. 2274 AND 2294 N.C.S., 12 TO CHANGE CERTAIN APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE GENERAL FUND 13 FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA 14 FROM JULY 1, 2007 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2008, 15 AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF, 16 TO TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY 17 18 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA AS FOLLOWS: 19 20 Section 1, Ordinances No. 2274 and 2294 N.C.S. are hereby amended, for the fiscal year 21 beginning July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, in the amounts established in the Exhibit A, and the 22 amended budget incorporated herein by reference, and distributed to the various funds as 23 stated in Exhibit A, and shall be expended and used in accordance therewith. 24 25 Section 2, The City Council hereby finds and determines that the amount of appropriations 26 provided hereby does not exceed the estimated revenue, other sources, and available fund 27 balances, in the amounts set in Exhibit A, which will be on file with the City Clerk for the fiscal 28 year ending June 30, 2008. 29 30 Section 3, All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed, 31 32 Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be necessary for the immediate preservation of 33 the public peace, health and safety of the City of Petaluma and its citizens, and shall take effect 34 and be in force from and affer its final passage by unanimous vote of the members of the City 35 Council present at the time of its adoption. The reason for the urgency is to approve Ordinance No. 2303 N.C.S. Page 1 1 adjustments to appropriations needed as the result of Administrative Services Department staff's 2 eleven-month review of approved appropriations compared to actual, annualized expenditures 3 and adjust appropriations before the end of Fiscal Year 2007-2008, in order to comply with the 4 City Charter and avoid variances in the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report which 5 could result in an auditor's management comment letter. 6 7 Section 5.
