ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES

Letter from Mrs.- Da ddted'Mdy 3, 1959, requesting that
the City reconsider the idea of purchasing 7 -1/2 ft. on the south side of Ellis
.:Street for future widening of said street, read and .filed..
Mrs. Jameson addressed the Council stating that she felt it would be
more fair and more feasible for the City to require that the entire 15 ft. to
b,e used to widen the street, be furnished by the developers of the Martin
property,
Mayor Parent stated that he believed there would be no reason .for
widening . Ellis .Stf& f'drfy more tha . n 7-1/2 ft.. on the undeveloped side of the
street, at the present time,. He believed that the City ' could have parking on
one side of the street only, and that this, together with the 7-. ft, widening,
n
wouldprovide a street for some time to come,
Mr. Gossa,ge started that he would have no objection to having "no park--
ing" on I the side of the street upon which . his development was located, inasmuch
- as they were providing.sufficient off 7.street parking,
C gnee
ity,-En r Al Roberts explained that in, speaking of widening
i
Street 16 ft. !he' was - considering the future growth and development of the
Area, He also felt that the 7 -- J./2 ft. 'widening on the* undeveloped side of the
street would be -idequate for quite some time
The subject ordinance was then adopted,
