Silver, representative of Ames Ford Sales in San Rafael, - addressed the Council stating that there is a warranty on all new cars.1 by manufacturer, which is honored by the manufacturer's dealers, Also, the fact that the c:ar.s. would be submitted in ac cordance with City specifications had been inadvert- ently omftted from their bid. . However, the City Attorney had contacted his firm and ha.d been assured. that their bid would be ire. accordance With the specifications. .Councilman Van Bebber believed the low bid of Ames Ford Sales should be rejected on the basis that it was ir.°regular, `The City: Attorney -explained that if 'the Council. wished to reject this bid, . it would have to make'a 'finding that the bid of Ames Ford .Sales js improper, in that it failed to specify-that the bid was submitted in accordance with City's specifications, Councilman Van tBebber made -a motion that the low bid of Ames Ford Sales be rejected because of - failure to comply with the City's specifications, and that the bid of the - next lowest bidder, Sanderson Motor Co. be accepted. Petaluma Aqueduct Letter from Sonoma County Flood Control & Water Conservation Dist. dated Novo 13, 1.959, re completion of survey work from Santa Rosa to Magnolia Ave. anal. asking for a. definite decision as to the most desirable route through Petaluma., read. and filed. The City Engineer Went over the proposed routes for the aqueduct through Petaluma suggested by Mr. Layton --° Kentucky & Fourth Streets or Petaluma. Blvd. Mayor Parent suggested that the Council go over this matter at the meet r:..g to be held tomorrow night with the Flood Control Board. There were no 1,bcctions to this. Plaza "Park, read and filed. In the report it was pointed out that approximately 40 of wire had been replaced in the park month at a cost of approximately. $1800 °00, and the lights at the park are now out again. He noted that because -of the age of t_h %s wiring system, he did not would be economically feasible to continue making such repairs, and suggested that if the light's are to remain1n the park, it would be a..savings to the City to have them rewired. The cost of - wa,§ estimated to run about $450. to $5000 The City Manager stated that he had called this matter to the attention of the Council in order that they might decide what action should be taken, con- sidering the plan now being prepared by the Public -Works Dept, relative to parking facilities in Hill Plaza .
