CONSIDERATION OF BIDS: 3 Compact Cars Under date of June 27, 1960, , City Manager Lawrence W. Larson submitted a written report on the bid opening Of June 23, 1960 inclu'ding a tabulation of bids and the recommendation that the low bid of Tf*esterterp Bros to furnish three' Rambler automobiles for the si.. of $5,151.75, including all sales and other taxes, be accep He further recommended that the order be placed imvi in order 'to insure delivery'of'the cars within thirty days. Oak 1-1111 .Hatchery Bldgj Councilman King intr6duced'Orivin'G.'Mlakson, who, with a pariner, wishes to establish a plastic extrusion plant at Oak Hill.Hatch In this connection, 'the 'City Mhn&ger i-eview6d d report by Richard Coleman,• City Planner, on t•hd su.baect pf plastic extruders, whi'ch Mr. Lars'on -stated was a f avorribl6 r-6pof t i.n that t-his• particular operation would not be a hazardous or un4esii-ablei operation. Mr. Coleman commented on all phases "cif the- process - and in conclusio'n stated that under ordinary 6ir6um§tafi6es he would recommend that an extruder operation , such as seen at Dow Chemicai be iocated in a light industrial zoning district. Also reviewed by the City Manager was a report by City Attorney Ed Robert entitled "Use of Hatchery Buildings for Plastic Extruders - .Ste'p*s to Accomplish such Use," which outlined'the steps necessary to rezone the property and his 6o.mment - thai, - ,. zoning of this type o;f property creates problems of legality. Councilman King asked if' it might 'be p 6ssible for 'the City to grant. a Ube Permit in this case until such " time As the 'ordinahce .. pertaining to the use of hatchery buildings is enacted.
