(See page No'. 94) Councilman Ellis then asked that the resolution including the annexation in the Petaluma Elerrientary School District be considered by the Council at this Representatives of the Old Adobe School District addressed the Council expressing their desire to have the subject annexation rerriai'n in their school distr.i.ct. It was pointed out that they ahead with plans for the construction of a new school; - even if this property were annexed to the City School System, . .This would then create the same situation' in their district as the McDowell School novi ba whereby they would .not be able to complete many of* the school facilities 1- ca of the lack 'of pupil's. A r Atlonale for annexation of property to City &City School District, " which'wa's attached to the letter, was also read'and filed `Councilman King stated that h'e "now wondered if more than 50j of the people in the area wished to - be annexed the Cit Elementary School District. If so, he felt that this might solve, the whole problem, Perhaps then - the Old Adobe District would.n o, ga ahead with plans for the construction of the new school. Councilman 1VI'atzen remarked ,that he had received a number of calls from people in the McDowell School area, expressing the desire to have the subject annexation taken into the Petaluma Elementary School District. C ONSIDERATION OF NEW OR UNFINISHED.BUSINESS Boat Harbor Res-, of Intention re Engineering Services Mayor, Parent stated' that Mf, Larson. had received word today that the V . .Petaluma 'Harbor come under examination, at the next meeting of the State - Small Craft Harbor Commission, It was felt that the City could show the Commission. that most of the delay on the project has been on the part of the State getting information back to the City, After reading the City Mahager report and the City Manager's verifying v,. with .the State some of the points brought out at 'the last meeting., Councilman` King stated,that he was now satisfied on these matters. p .•, n : Councilmen Van Bebber and Crinella reported. how the Committee had macle its decision relative -to engaging an engineering firm for the boat harbor project, It was explained that. six firms had been considered,. only on the .basis of , cost, but also from a standpoint of experience, - The firm chosen by the Committee, Noble Harbor Engineering;.. had a fine background of experience. INTENTION TO ENGAGE CONSULTING ENGINEER FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE BOAT HARBOR,"' adopts 1 6 affirmative votes 1 absentee, Crinella Annexation #1 ` - .,C %ty,Attorney E'd' Robert stated that this annexation presented the same problem, -relative to school boundaries, as'Crinella Annexation #2o He noted that .tvwo resolutions had been prepared,. one including the annexation in the City Elementary. School District and the other excluding it: Councilman Crinella stated that he would again abstain from voting, due to personal interest in the matter. He then asked -that the resolution including the zi!.nexation in the City Elementary School District be acted on first. This personal interest is such that he felt it appropr -iate 'not to be required to vote and that his failure to vote be recorded as an abstention. 1 1 (4)
