Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Councilman Gustafson, Vice President of the Council, ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Crinella, Ellis, Gustafson and Van.Bebber° Absent: Councilmen Colin, Solomon and Mayor Matzen. Merrmbers of the Council expressed their regret of this resignation, stating tha Mr',' Gibbs had done a very fine job on the Planning Commission, General Plan Copy` of resolution adopted by Board of Supervisors, acknowledging the recommendation of the Sonoma County Planning Commission on the Petaluma General ,Plan with 'amendments and' accompanying ,,comments and recommendations and setting time and place for public hearing thereon, submitted and filed: Planning Director Bob Byrd asked that the Bd. of Supervisors be advised that the 'Council _is. in general agreement with the modifications to the Plan proposed by the County Planning Comrriission° 'The Plan could, then be reconsid; ered by the Council to determine how they might, add to or change it. Mr. Byrd asked for permission to attend the hearing on Sept. 11th at 2 :30 p.m. He recommended that as many Councilmen and Planning Commissioners as possible attend fhis.meeting in order that the desires',of the City might be made known, Mr. Byrd;explained that if any significant modification made by the County Planning Commission were changed by the'Bd° of Supervisors at the hearing in A - August 20 1.962 General Plan - cont'd September, the Plan would then have to. be returned to the County Planning Commission; another public hearing would have to be held etc, A motion was made.by Councilman, Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Crinella;` that the Board of Supervisors be' informed that the Council is in, . , urrge the Board to pass the Plan as p resented to them.° Them d that they agreement with the findings of the Count Planning Commission an P otion carried by 4 affirmative votes, 3: absentees. Before adoption of the foregoing resolution, the City Attorney stated that this legislation was necessary because of a change in the location of some of the easements. Giving a committee report in regard'to the sale of'the Water Dept. property on` Maria Drive,, Councilman Ellis, informed, the Council that the Christian; stian; Church had' now withdrawn its proposal for- purchase of the property.
