OF ORDINANCE June 18, 2007 1 Introduced by Seconded by 2 3 Teresa Barrett Mike O'Brien 4 5 6 n 8 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUrV!A AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9 2246-2247 AND 2261-2265 N.C.S., TO CHANGE CERTAIN APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE GENERAL FUND 10 FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA FROM JULY 1, 2006 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2007, AND 7.1 DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF, TO TAKF. EFFECT IMMEDIATELY 72 13 14 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUP~'~,A AS FOLLOWS: 1~ 1h Section 1. Ordinance Nos. 2246 - 2247 and 2261. - 22cti N.C.S. are hereby amended, for 1i the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006 thro~_~gh June 30, 2007, in the amounts established in the 1t3 Exhibit A, and the amended budget incorporated herein by reference and distributed to tree 19 various funds as stated in Exhibit A, and shail be expended cnd used in accordance therewith. 2G 21 Section 2. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the arnour,t of 22 appropriations provided hereby does not exceed the estimated revenue, other sources, and 23 available fund balrnces, in the amounts set in Exhibit A, whicr~ will be an fill with the City Clerk 2~ for the fiscal year ending .June 30, 2007. , ~5 26 Section 3. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith, are hereby 27 reoealed. ~g L 29 Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be ne:~.essary for the immediate 30 preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the Ciry of Petaluma and its citizens, and 31 shall take effect and be in force from and after its final passuJe by unanimous vote of the 32 members of the City Council present at the time of its adogtior~. -i he reason for the urgency is to 33 approve adjustments to appropriations needed as the result of Adrnir:istrative Services 3~ Department staff's eleven month review cf approved appropriations compared to actual, Ordinance Nb. Page 1 annualized expenditures and adjust appropriations before the end of Fiscal Year 2006-2007, in 2 order to comply with the City Charter and avoid variances in the City's Comprehensive Annual 3 Financial Report which could result in an auditor's management comment letter. 4 5 Section 5.
