Adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order
by Mayor Matzen.
ROLL CALL:
Prdsent: Councilmen Brainerd, Colin, Crinella, Ellis, Solomon,
Van Bebber- and Mayor Matzen.
Absent: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes from the special meeting of June 10, 1963 and the regular meeting
of June 17, 1963, were approved and recorded.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:

Claims approved for payment by the City Manager. were submitted and
filed; whereupon,

The. Mayor and members of the Council commended Mr. .Eaglin' for the

Petaluma, The Council expressed its hope for a pleasurable retirement ;

The Mayor presented an honorary resolution to Mr. ,Eaglin. Mr. Eaglin
thanked the Mayor and Council for the co- operation given him and stated that his
association with the City had been a wonderful experience.

After considerable discussion, Councilman Van Bebber made a motion,
seconded by Councilman Ellis, that the amount of $13, 680, as per. the. recommen-
dation: of. the C'ity'Manager in his report to the City Council dated June 13, 1963,
be reduced by $1, 500, ($900 is the amount normally paid for the City Attorney's
services ;a $'600 fora the City Treasurer.,) The.motion carried by 5 affirmative
votes;,. Councilmen Colin and Solomon voted ''no "„ The City Attorney explained

Res AcceptinR of Mayor Eve A Matzen
The :Mayor explained his reasons for submitting his resignation were
set forth in -his -- letter dated June 12., 1963 and that there was no other reason
for his leaving the office of Mayor.
.Members of the City Council., City.M.anager, and City Clerk expressed'
regret for the necessity of his resignation and complimented the Mayor for;the
capable leadership given the Council, excellent manner in which he presided
over the meetings and for the faithful service rendered to this City. whereupon,
