stating that the bacterial' quality of water in the City of Petaluma water system
has met Public Health Service Drinking Water Standards through every month in
1962 and thus far in 1963 and commending the City on -this excellent record, -read

The Mayor explained that he and the City Manager had conferred with
Mr. Brody and Mr. Brody promised to do something immediately to try to
alleviate the isituation.
It was the decision of the Council to have the. City,Ma:nager check into the
matter further and report back to the Council at the next regular meeting.,

36 -.inch pipe across his property, . This will avoid the -hazards and inconvenience
of an open ditch.
The Mayor ;reminded the Council that Thursday, . July 18, 1963, the Council
will be guests of the Recreation Commission.
Carl"Tetersen of 815 Washington Street addressed .the Council wondering
what had caused the death of several hundred fish.
The- Director of"Public Works explained spring rains wash down cow
manure from adjoining dairy ranches and the manure settles in the upper river
basin; In'the process of decay, all the oxygen is burned up thereby causing
fish to die,
