ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Brainerd; Cavanagh, Jr., Ellis, Gans, and Mayor Van Bebber. Absent: Councilmen Battaglia and Colin. 1 After Roll Call, Councilman Colin entered the Council Chambers, the time being approximately 7:33 p. m. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES: Revision of outside sewer fees Council approval was given to a draft form of, an ordinance as presented. After some discussion regarding a penalty clause, it was agreed that the annual outside sewer bills would be due and payable January 1, and July 1, and delinquent 30 days thereafter. A that time, a penalty of equal the amount would be charged. Sewer extensions After a discussion of the problem of the contract to reimburse a person installing a sewer main extension, the City Attorney pointed out that the person installing could be reimbursed only out of the connection fee as established in Ordinance No. 719 N. C. $'. There is no provision to collect, in addition to the connection fee, a fee based upon costs of installation. The City Attorney was directed to prepare appropriate legislation to provide for the ability to collect a portion of, the costs. A 5- minute recess wa:s declared'. The time was approximately�9 - :05 p. m. The meeting was called back to order. CONSIDERATION' OF NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS 'It was the decision of the Council to approve the Waster, Sewer, and Parking Meter budget sections.
