Special Coune;l Meeting Special meeting of the - Council of the City of Petaluma
called to order by Mayor Vail Bebbe.r at the hour of
5 :00 o'clock p, m.

Attendance Present: Councilmen Brainerd, Cavanagh, Jr. , Colin,
Ellis, and Mayor Van Bebber.
Absent: Councilmen Battaglia and Gans.
Notice of the Call Notice of the Special Meet called for May 13, 1965,
_the .certificate of the City Clerk of the delivery of
said notice -, and the consent of the members of the City
Council to the holding of said meeting, submitted and
filed.
Purpose of th Meeting The purpose of the meeting was to set summer water /Z0
rates.. A chart p.roposiizg summer water charges for
the months of June, July, August, and September, 1965,
quantity rate, prepared by the staff, submitted and
filed. City Manager Robert Meyer said that this chart
was considered and generally approved by the Water
Commission at its meeting on May 12, 1965. However,
after considerable discussion, the Council decided
that the chart was inadequate for the purpose and
approved the scale of rates as graphically explained and
recommended by Director of Public Works D_ avid Young
as follows:

whereupon, Resolution #4267 N. C. S. establishing water
rates for the summer of 1965, pursuant to the authority
of Section 27. 44. 1 of the Petaluma City Code of 1958,
was introduced by Councilman Colin, seconded by Councilmai
Ellis, and adopted by 5 affirmative votes, 2 absentee.
Mr. Fred Seaman of the Petaluma Golf and Country
Club, inquired as to the amount of credit for large '
water users and was told. that in accordance with the
scale, the maximum amount per month would be $50
or a total of $20G' for the four -month period.
During the discussion held on the above summer water
rates, Commercial Office Manager Raymond W. Myers,
announced his resignation.
Adjournment. There being no further business.to come before the
meeting, the meeting was adjourned.
