Ord. #796 NCS Canvass of General Municipal Election Res. #4288NCS Adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Mayor Van Bebber at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. Present: Councilmen Battaglia,Brainerd,Cavanagh, Jr. Colin, Ellis, Gans, and Mayor VanBebber. Absent: None. Ordinance #796 N.C.S. making temporary appropriations for current department expenses, chargeable to the appropriations of the fiscal year 1965 -66, to cover necessary expenses of various departments until the annual appropriation is in force, was introduced by Councilman Cavanagh, Jr., seconded by Councilman Gans, and adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Councilmen Brainerd, Cavanagh, Jr., and Gans, together with the City Clerk, were appointed to canvass the returns of the subject election held on June 8, 1965. A 15- minute recess was declared. The meeting was called back to order at approximately 7:50 p.m. After canvassing the returns of the 32 consolidated precincts and the absentee votes, the following resolution was adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 4288 N.C.S INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN DAVID W. BRAINERD KENNETH J. COLIN RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS I`� AND RESULT OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION:. AND CONSOLIDATED SPECIAL MUNICIPAL BOND ELECTION. WHEREAS', by proceedings heretofore duly had and taken, the general municipal election held in the City of Petaluma (hereinafter called the "City ") on June 8, 1965, was duly consolidated with a special municipal bond election; and WHEREAS, said general municipal election and consolidated special municipal bond election were held on said date in accordance with law, and the votes thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and declared in all respects as required by law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Petaluma, as follows: 1. The City Clerk of the City be and is hereby instructed to enter this resolution on the minutes of this Council as a statement of the result of said election. - 1 - �. All absent voter ballots have been duly received and can- vassed in time, form and manner as required by law, and the result of the absentee vote for and against said measure submitted at said special muni- cipal bond election is as set forth above. 9. That less than two - thirds (2/3) of all of the votes cast at said special municipal bond election on said measure were in favor of said measure, and that said measure failed PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of June, 1965, by the follow - ing vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN BATTAGLIA, BRAINERD, CAVANAGH, JR.,COLIN, ELLIS, GANS AND MAY VAN BEBBER.
