After the oath of office had` -been administered by the City Clerk,
C,oz�neilman Crinella was -welcomed to the City Council by Mayor Schoeningh,

Councilman Crinella then took his place` at the Council table.

Booker Subdivision.Drainage. Problem
Mayok Sthoehingh refe - t 6 Jr6pdr dated June 5, '1953 which.had
been submitted to the Council by former City Attorney Karl. ,Brooks, in which

it was stated under these circumstances,, I should think that it
would, bepoor reasoning for the City to engage in any -work to prov'id or
improve the drainage conditions in this area until this litigation:ha$ been
finally disposed of ". The Mayor requested that the records indicate that
such a report had been. received, this being the reason for the Council-'s
not . having acted on the matter befor'e. this time'.
A report was . submitted.to the Council by City Attorney Ed Robervat,,,.
the meeting of August 20, 19568 stating, his opinion''that the: City wil not
jeopardize its position, by. undertaking - drainage repairs and im' rove m,'Onts i n
the affected area; and, in accordance with this report, the City :engineer was, a K
directed to proceed, with plans and specifications fo' - i installation p T n allation of'a.s rm
drain from - Phillips Avenue down McNear Avenue.-
Roy Kelly of, the Engineering Dept. reported on the progress, of"t
project, stating that it seems evident that the City will need additional- kighp.;-
of'-way - before starting this work.
The City Engineer and City Attorney were then directed to go ahead
with obtaining whatever easements,, etc. which might he necessary to install,
the storm drain as soon as possible.
