Report of'Cfty Attorney' dated April l ,- 1957, re City of Petaluma vs.
Ammons read and filed.
In the, absence .of City Attorney Ed; Robert, the City Manager. was dire'dted
to check with, Robert to determine what - period of time the City had in,
which to enforce the decision of the C , our*t.
The City Manager was instructed to keep the Council informed: on th-is-
matter.
Other City Officials
Monthly reports of the Director of Public Works & City Engineer,
Police Dept.' Fire Dept, , City Operations, and City Librarian,
were submitted.and filed.
INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES:
Electric Underground District-
Mayor Schdeningh related What had taken. place on this matter- to date,
stating..that there - had been a, question as to whether of - not the Wires referred to
in the ordinance would' the communicatfon .. wires of the Pacific I Telephone
& Telegraph...Co - as - well as the Wires of the Po G' &E. Co.
City, -:Manager Ed. Trank reported copies of the proposed ordinance.. -
establishing an Electric tric -Undergrot I ind District had been sent. to the legal depart'
ment of the_.Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co.
Mr.. .._..Edward C. Shirley,. Telephone CompanyEngineer, addressed 8$6'd the
Council, stating that he conferred with-the legal department of the - T&Ie - Dhone
Co. relative to the or&nance. He' informed the Council that as the
ordinance. now stands; it would be in violation of the Public Utilities'dornmissiojys
filings. He.therefore'requestod that action on this matter be d eferred until'

X78 NCS - Reg ulating - Public Eating Houses
.`Mayor Schoeningh explained that, inadvertently, the subject ordinance
h4 bodh: dopted' at the meeting of A,,pril 8,. 1957, :before it had been published,
the�refore,, the vote for its adoption would have to be taken again at this time.
City Clerk Gladys Wallin noted that the ordinance had received one
negative; vote at the meeting of April 8, 19570
«` Councilman King referred to paragraphs (b) and (d) of the ordinance,
stating that he believed these paragraphs were in conflict,
Td a question by Councilman Gustafson, the City Manager explained
that; normally the Health Officer gave notice to the owner of a business to
