McNear Rezone' cont, Mrs.. Paul Zeigler, 1.1 Stevens Dt. i suggested that the 125" .buffer zone lie dedicated for a City park. Mr. Richard Croci, prospective purchaser of the property under d addressed the Council stating. that, if the rezoning went through, 6 Tots in - the buffer zone would immediately be' for sale for residential purposes. 1Mt Denman .McNear,. speaking - on behalf of the McNear Estate, rem'ar1ed that `the Estate was very interested in having the 125`'' buffer zone remain: an R = l zone; and in fact wished to protect all of the boundaries of the Uhu'rch site from commercial. encroachments Councilman Crinella wa.s .excused f om the meeting at approximately " 'Mr. Cromwell, informed the Council at this time that he had conferred with Mr. Croci, and .that Mr. - Croci had assured him that he would be willing to have it state in. the deed that the 125' buffer zone would never be used for anything -other than residential purposes,' s Mr. Barney Margolis, Planning Commission Member, explained his reasons for voting "no'` on this rezoning; however- he stated that he would. not;be opposed to the - rezoning if'there assurance that the 125` buffer zone would beJ'�used strictly for residential purposes. Discussion was held by the Council relative to the opening of Cochrane WAY ald Avenueas through streets, ' .'Counc .lmen Van and Matzen;favored'barr.ica.des across the end of these streets `as further protect on to th e property owners. Mayor Parent remarked that he believed he expressed the opinion of tl majority of the Council in stating that these streets should not be : opened up. Mr. Cromwell stated that so far as he understood from. Mr. Croci and Mr, ' King, Mr' Croci- would have no foreseeable use of the property which mo'Lild,;involve any these side streets. ... .: Mr. McNear informed. the Council that Mr. Croci had already agreed �.to a 5' water_ line - easement running- along the property lii-le from. Cochrane` Way to 1Vhss on Drive, which; he felt would provide�further protection for adjacent property owners.
